Post-Doctoral Scholar in Biology at the University of Kentucky

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral position with Julie Pendergast’s Lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky. The Pendergast Lab is a fun and collaborative research group that conducts basic studies (in mice) and clinical trials investigating the circadian mechanisms underlying metabolism and energy balance. We study circadian rhythms and sleep in healthy and nutritionally challenged conditions. We approach our research questions using a combination of behavior, physiology, genetics, and molecular biology. Experience in chronobiology, energy balance, or neural circuits is preferred but NOT required. We are looking for a post-doc who loves to pursue scientific questions in an energetic and supportive environment. The position is initially for one year and can be extended upon mutual agreement.

The University of Kentucky is located in Lexington in the heart of the beautiful bluegrass region in the horse capital of the world. Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, biology, or a related field. Experience with stereotaxic surgeries in mice, AAVs, and/or circadian rhythms and sleep is preferred, but not required.
