Postdoctoral scientist: Cross-talk between Circadian Clocks and Nutrient Sensing Pathways in the Human Gut

Looking for a postdoctoral position that merges #strong science, # nutrition, and # biological rhythms at a top-ranked university in the heart of Europe?

The Gut Peptide Research lab is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist to perform research in the framework of an European Horizon project SHIFT2HEALTH that investigates how obesity affects the cross-talk between circadian clocks and nutrient sensing pathways in the gut. We aim to study how intermittent fasting or chronobiotics can affect this circadian misalignment which results in adverse health effects. Our research integrates state-of-the-art techniques ranging from RNA-sequencing to super resolution imaging and metabolic studies in 3D intestinal organoids obtained from obese patients.

The lab is integrated within the Translational Research Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders (TARGID) at KU Leuven (www.targid.eu) and benefits from the basic and clinical expertise within TARGID to implement top quality research in the field of gastroenterology, endocrinology and nutrition. This research project involves collaborations across multiple centers, and will provide opportunities for the candidate to broaden their network and to gain experience in translational research.

The laboratory is strongly international and the university offers a stimulating environment for researchers to achieve their ambitions and to plan their career development.
