The Chronobiology Division (PI Achim Kramer, see investigates the molecular basis of circadian rhythms and is an internationally leading laboratory in the field of chronobiology and circadian medicine. As part of the German Research Foundation-funded Collaborative Research Center TRR 186 “Molecular Switches”, we are looking for a dedicated research associate / postdoc.

Project duration: 01.07.2024 – 30.06.2028

Your area of responsibility:
– Characterization of single cell circadian rhythms using live-cell fluorescence microscopy
– Use of advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques (FLIM-FRET, FCS)
– Analysis and quantification of single-cell circadian rhythms
– Writing presentations and publications
– Supervision of students (lab rotation, bachelor, master)

Your profile:
– Successfully completed studies as a (molecular) biologist / biochemist / cell biologist / biotechnologist / biophysicist or similar (f/m/d)
– Scientific doctorate (biology, biochemistry, biophysics or similar)
– Experience in live-cell fluorescence microscopy
– Experience in general molecular and cell biology methods
– Experience in data analysis using R, Python or comparable
– High ability to work in a team and flexibility as well as very good communication and organizational skills
– Confident handling of common Microsoft Office applications
– Very good knowledge of English
