The Evans lab invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Marquette University. The Evans lab studies neural control of sleep and daily rhythms, using real-time cellular imaging, genetic manipulations, neurochemistry, cell culture, and behavioral assays. The successful candidate will receive mentorship and training in these approaches, as well as in areas of experimental design, execution, data analyses, and scientific communication to advance the applicant’s career interests and goals.
The successful candidate will conduct preclinical research in rodent models focused on understanding circadian plasticity using cellular and molecular approaches, including real-time imaging of neuronal function using advanced genetic and optogenetic techniques. The successful candidate will join an interactive team of neuroscientists dedicated to understanding mechanisms of plasticity and pathology that impact human health and disease.
