SRBR condemns all forms of racism & discrimination

Dear SRBR Members,

Recent tragic events have, yet again, brought awareness of inequalities, disparities, and racism in our society. We all are devastated by these events, but must also recognize that the scientific communities we are part of are not free of these ills. Despite the feelings of helplessness we may have at this point, it is critical that we work towards effecting the change we seek. The Society for Research on Biological Rhythms condemns all forms of racism, discrimination, harassment and violence and is actively working towards solutions within our Society. We are committed to:

  • A self-assessment process to identify deficiencies in the diversity of our membership and administration and find ways to address this;
  • Providing a forum for SRBR members to share their thoughts and ideas on diversity and inclusion.
  • Ensuring that our investments are consistent with our social and cultural values;
  • Promoting the careers of BIPOC trainees by providing them with appropriate support and mentoring and with opportunities to advance their science.

We hope you all will join us by addressing these issues in your local environment, and help to create a thriving intellectual, emotional, and social home for all biological rhythm researchers.
